Tutoring Program

This program is only offered to students from the Hue orphanage who are enrolled in the TTM school.  Many of these students are missing some basic training in science and math.  This will in many cases prevent them from passing college entrance exams once they have graduated from the TTM school.

Currently 15 students participate in this program.  It costs $10 dollars per month for a student to receive this additional tutoring.

Our goal is for all qualified TTM students to be able to join this program, but this is only possible with continued support from donors.

If you're looking to make a difference in the life of a student  contact us and we'll explain how this works.

Student Scholarship

More and more students from TTM school are able to achieve a major milestone in their lives.  In increasing numbers TTM students have been able to pass the national college entrance exam.  When this happens the majority of the student's tuition costs for a 2 or 4 year college are paid for by the government.  A few years ago this achievement was mostly out of reach for orphanage students.  Now with the help of the tutoring program orphanage students can better compete with everyone else.

Besides the cost of tuition, general schooling expenses for these students average about $50 per month per student.  The Student Scholarship Program attempts to offset about one-half of these expenses ($25) and the orphanage picks up the remainder.  This way more students have the chance for a better life by being able to attend school.

Our goal this year will be to provide this scholarship to all TTM students who pass the entrance exam to enter a 2 or 4-year college or university.  It will only be with continued support from donors like you that we are able to do this.

If you would like to make a difference in one of their lives, talk to us about much you might be able to afford monthly (generally $25 per month).  We'll see that this money reaches your student and will also provide you with a special student username/password so you can receive news about your adopted student.

If you're looking to make a difference in the life of one student of your choice contact us and we'll explain how this works.

Upgrade Classroom  PC's

Each year we try to upgrade 1 or 2 of the original 486 computers.

Newer computers make it possible to provide better and better training opportunities.

We decided it is less expensive for us to purchase the PC's inside Vietnam rather than to ship them and then pay custom's duties.  Typically these PC's cost about $400 - $500 each.

Newer computers make it possible to provide better and better training opportunities for TTM students.  Now for the first time the school is starting to use Voice Over IP (VOIP) and the web cam to provide additional practice opportunities for students taking English classes.

This year we will experiment with a slightly different approach where we purchase one PC that supports up to 3 other workstations.  This reduces overall cost and maintenance since each workstation only requires a mouse, keyboard and monitor (and no PC).  If this works it effectively gives us 4 PC's for about $750.

If you're looking for a single project like upgrading a piece of computer equipment that will make a big difference at TTM school please contact us.

"Project Smile"

Do you ever remember when you were young and someone gave you a few dollars to spend on yourself?  No matter how old you are you will probably never forget this person.

Imagine for a moment you are a child in an orphanage.  You may never have had any money so you could take a friend out to a movie or out to eat something at a little restaurant.

When it starts "Project Smile" is going to be very simple.  Each month a small amount of money, like $10 will be given away in a drawing to some lucky TTM student.

All the student needs to do is have a great time doing something they dream of doing and then send us a photo of what they did.  We will try to find an easy way to display these photos.

If you think this is a nice way to put a smile on the face of a TTM student please contact us.
